And So, The Story Begins...

From the time that I was little, I knew that I wanted to write books. All kinds of books.

I've written I don't know how many for my kids, and a few for adults, and not once yet have I tried to publish one of them.

I will, I will, one day.

In the meantime, I thought that I would start a story right here on my blog. I'm going to create a poll along my sidebar, and you can vote for what the "story" should be called.

Every once, and a while I will post a new chapter as a blog post, and if you are interested you can follow along. If not, feel free to skip right through it.
Any suggestions, recommendations? Comment, and I would gladly appreciate them.

If you need a little clue as to what it's going to be about, as if it isn't obvious - it's going to be a story of romance.

Sincerely,

Mama of Romance

So How Ofter Are Moms Having Sex?

Not surprisingly, Moms don't have sex all that often. So it's nice to know that when my husband whimpers that he's not getting enough action, I can say with confidence:

"Well Dear, we're married, and have 3 small kids, the reality is that we're not going to have as much sex as we used to, not for now anyway."

It's good to know about other's normalcies, not because everyone should be "normal," but because it can certainly help to minimize the amount of guilt that you might feel for not being good enough.

We often think that normal is better than what we are, setting ourselves up for not being happy with ourselves.

It can also give you a sense of peace, knowing that you're not the only one in your situation.

Moms, rest assured, that if you're not having sex a whole lot right now, you're not the only one.

So, here are the results to the poll.
"How Often Do You Have Sex?"

64% of Moms are having sex about 0-3 times a week

26% of Moms are having sex about 3-5 times a week

5% of Moms are having sex about 5-10 times a week

And, 2% of Moms are having sex about 10 + times a week

If anyone is interested, I fit into 3 of the 4 categories, depending on the week. But, I checked off 5-10, although my husband begs to differ! He thinks we belong in th 0-3 category, lol.

Why is it that men always think that they get less than they actually get, and they always want more, more, more - it's because they are MEN.
Maybe I ought to keep score, but I'm not that kind of a gal. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Sexy Tip #5 For Moms

Think Condiments.

An easy, and inexpensive way to add a little excitement, and taste to your sex life is as easy as opening up your fridge, or pantry door.

My pick...chocolate of course. Chocolate mousse that is. Just add milk, and it's a yummy chocolaty goodness that easily sticks to most surfaces, and can be even more easily licked off.

What I like most about it - it's not too sweet, low in calories, sugar, you don't easily get tired of the taste, and....oh there's just so many reasons why I love it.

Just think - it can make even the grossest of things taste good!

Cost: a few dollars.

Benefits: Add tons of tasty fun to your sex life, and not to your waist line. show how much you love your partner, and satisfy your cravings for chocolate at the same time.

An Unfavorable Love Affair

Almost all men do it. But, that doesn't mean that I want MY husband to do it.

When it comes to sex, be it radio, TV, or the web, you can be assured that my husband is drawn to it like a dog on a walk having to pee on every tree.

I'll be cleaning up the kitchen, wrapping up for the day, and he'll be in front of the TV watching something about sex. Whether it's Sex TV, the Man Show, or a soft core kind of porn.

To me, it's like he'd rather pay attention to other naked, or semi-naked women than his own wife. It makes me feel unpretty, unloved, lonely, and turned off because it makes me think of him as...well a gross sex obsessed man.

It's like a love affair.

Except there's no love in the equation, literally.

I don't understand how some women enjoy this kind of thing, and get turned on. I don't see the point, or enjoy at all watching other people having sex.

Unless it's sex in romantic movies, when the sex is more about making love because they are in love.

Not to knock the billion dollar sex industry, or anything!

But, the fake, just for the camera, shaved chests and privates, fake moaning, oiled up bodies, corny dialogue, fake boob-kind of sex just grosses me out.

I'm interested in my husband, the love of my life, and no one else - no matter how big their boobs, or their -you know what.

So why do men do this? Why are they so drawn?

Is it because they think that the grass might be greener on the other side? Because they don't get enough sex, or the right kind of sex?

Am I that inadequate?

After too many glances of boobs, behinds, and my husband sitting on the couch doing absolutely nothing, I told him what would happen if he chose to keep it up.

I explained how it made me feel, and that it was his choice.

If he expected me to want to be turned on by him, and be ready to jump into bed with him, he was going to have to figure out some other kind of foreplay than fake boobs plastered all over my living room TV screen.

So it's the fake boobs, and the sex on the TV, OR it's the REAL deal laying in his bed waiting for him. His choice.

Man, I sound mean.

Here's my justification though:

He doesn't much like when I talk about how his Grandma just had to have a hysterectomy, about how I had to handle a huge poopy diaper explosion earlier that day, or about anything non-sexual right before we make love, so why should I have to suffer through what I don't find as a turn-on before we get into bed with each other?

All I have to do is say is "vasectomy," and his you know what shrivels into a little wet noodle.

I believe that in a marriage, you try your best to look after your partner's needs.

His needs are sex. I need romance, and then sex.

Fake boobs, fake sex, and all that fake stuff is not my idea of a romantic way to be seduced.

Let's just say that my husband hasn't been having sex with the TV any more, at least not before bed. He prefers the REAL version instead, thankfully.

And He Wonders Why I Call Him a Pervert

It's breakfast time. We're sitting at the table together as a family.

I'm sporting a white, slightly tight fitting t-shirt, and pajama pants. My husband has been drooling over the t-shirt all morning.

He thinks that it's sexy when I don't wear a bra, my nipples stick out just a little, and practically begs to let him get my shirt all wet. Men!

To me, it's just pajamas.

Anyway, we're eating breakfast, and my husband is STILL commenting about how good I look. Got to love him.

My 4 year-old bursts out laughing, and says,

"Dad, I know what you're up to."

I turn to him, and say "What do you think Daddy is up to?"

He says "Daddy wants to get Mommy naked."

I hold my breath before I spit out my toast across the table, and hold back the laughter.

While this morning's behaviour was mild, and my husband is rather tame around our children, still even at 4, my son knows what everyone in our house knows...Daddy is a pervert.

But, we love him.

Featured Post: Mom of 5...Still Feeling Young and Sexy

Recently, I've had the pleasure of meeting a fellow Mom Blogger through Twitter. She is an amazing woman! She is a Mom of 5, doesn't look a day over 29, and still feels, and looks Sexy!

Her name is Cheryl, and she is the Mom behind The Daily Blonde. She is also the Web Manager for Alpha Women, an exciting website for Women to get together.

I highly urge you to pop by The Daily Blonde http://dailyblonde.blogspot.com/, and drop her a line - her blog is very witty, she is so hilarious.

Cheryl was kind enough to write a post for Sex Diaries of a Mom, and it's featured below.

Thanks Cheryl, I'm so glad to have had the pleasure of meeting you, when I'm *29 I hope I feel as Sexy as you!

Mom of Five...Still Feeling Young and Sexy

by The Daily Blonde

Giving birth is a beautiful thing.
However, it's not so easy to feel like the sexy little thing you were the night you conceived your bundle of joy.

No matter how big and manly your partner is, nothing can compare to the size of the giant cantaloupe sized head that exits from the area previously known as the port of pleasure.

No one can dispute that giving birth is emotional and unforgettable....but there's nothing sexy about it.
How do you get your sexy back?

Many women get so caught up in finding the best baby stroller or discussing which nursing bra gives the most support they forget that being sexy got them the baby.

Imagine the thrill your partner must feel when he sees you in your best over sized t-shirt with the spit up stains on the shoulder. The granny panties are the added touch.

Ladies, just because you had a baby, doesn't mean you need to forget that your curvier (and more exhausted) body is still a boiling hot sex machine.

You've just got to get your sexy on.

I've been a mother for almost 24 years. I'm 45 and I've heard I'm in my prime.

How unfortunate that I'm single, but I'm not planning on losing my "prime" for at least another 30 years.

As a single parent of 5 children ranging in age from 7 to 23, you'd think I'd have thrown in the towel when it comes to feeling even remotely sexy, or just thinking about sex.

That is sooooo far from the truth.

Let's get a few things straight: I think about sex more than the average man.

I've been told it's good I'm alone; I might kill a man with my sexual appetite - I hope my older daughters aren't reading this.

Then again...they should be happy their Mom still has a sex drive after popping out five rather sizable babies and surviving 7 years post divorce from a man who kissed like a St. Bernard.

Sexy is a state of mind.

It doesn't matter that I could be a bit thinner or that I'm only 5'3. I think it's important to be a woman but be your own person.

Confidence just screams "I am one hot sex goddess".

Yes, we all have busy lives and so much to do, that we put sex at the bottom of the list. But, think back to when you met your significant other...you couldn't wait to jump on the wild pony of love.

Hey, he might be tired too. Try imagining about the quickie you had while you're burping the baby for the 50th time....it just makes the day so much more manageable.

I'm young, maybe in some people's eyes 45 is mid-life.

Not to me.

This is the start of my life. I so enjoy being a mother. It's the most rewarding part of my life.

I also love being a woman...let's spell it out:

Wild...Orgasmic...My Butt is Still Sexy...All Night Long...Nympho

I don't care what you have to do tonight. Put the kids to bed and get in bed naked.

Your partner will either have a heart attack or will call in sick tomorrow and adore you more than he already does.
Don't you dare wear that ugly t-shirt in bed while you do the horizontal mambo...men don't notice an extra few inches on your hips just like women don't complain about an extra few inches.....well, you know where I'm going with that.

I'm going to go get ready to get in bed. I'm exhausted and the kids are finally heading to sleep. I'll live vicariously through all of you sexy mamas...until I find prince charming. Then I'll be too busy with him to preach to you about being sexy.......Sincerely, Cheryl of The Daily Blonde.

Ever Slept With a Monster?

I despise waking up already in a bad mood. I'm an extremely positive person, and so I like to shake off any "grumpiness" a.s.a.p. if there is any.

But, this morning....was a little harder than normal not to want to stomp around my house like a grump myself.

I slept with a monster last night.

You see, the monster made outrageously loud groaning noises, and covered my pillow with an oozy substance, no not what you're thinking...

It's tentacles wouldn't stop reaching over to grab at me, coming from all different directions; touching my breasts, and poking me up the bum.

I'm assuming it was a "He" because it reminded me exactly of my husband.

That perverse monster had some nerve!

I was half asleep, and thinking to myself "what ever that is, it better stop - I'm going to freak!"

And, then at 3 am, finally having had enough, I woke up completely.

I sat up in bed, and turned toward the monster that I was ready to pumble, and it was my husband. Surprise, surprise, looking like a drooly puppy.

Needless to say, this morning I was perturbed with him for having disrupted my sleep all night. I like to save that for my 3 kids that normally wake me up. If I wanted a 4th member of our family to wake me up, I would have another baby.

How kind of Hubbie to think that I needed another person to assist in making sure that Mommy never gets any sleep, ever, how kind.

The funny thing is, this monster has amnesia. He didn't remember a thing! He could have been seeping in his smelly cave, where he belongs, and wouldn't have none the difference. So how could I stay mad? - for long any way.

It's really honestly enough that he tries to cop a feel now, and then during the day. But, between the hours of ohh I don't know, any time after my kids are sleeping, and we're done making love until my kids wake up in the morning - these boobs, this butt, and everything else are completely off limits!

I don't mind a cuddle, if he'd stay still. However, moving tentacle-like things groping at me, that keep wiggling, and squirming, and squeezing certain areas, are simply not welcomed.

There, I vented. I feel much better now.

If there's any monsters in my bed tonight, I can assure you that I will be good, and ready. I intend to keep a nice, cold glass of water beside my bed - you know, in case I get "thirsty." Or maybe a sausage out of the freezer.

I wonder how that monster would feel if I returned the favor?

Sincerely,

Mama of Romance
